The meaning of ‘Age
40’ for Women
A boundary between the word ‘Bulhok(不惑): not being vacillated’ and the word ‘Mihok(迷惑): being deluded’. Recently, the average life expectancy is estimated to be 80. Based on this standard, the age 40 can be a new starting point for the last half of our life. And it is also said that the age 40 is the golden age of the life. But let’s think it over. Can it be true? |

I remember you, who
has become a guiding light for me
I come to think about so many ties and brushes on the doorsill of the breezing autumn. I try to remember the ones who gave me a smile, the ones who put a seed of hope inside my heart, or sometimes the ones who heartily encouraged me to have a strong life. In these days, these people are called ‘Mentor’. This autumn reminds me of mentors, the beautiful ones whom I met, and makes me look over myself, thinking ‘what kind of meaning do I give to others?’ Shall we listen to the memories about the mentor of women’s or the brush between a person and a person? |

Change in Kitchen Culture and Woman’s
Life
Kitchen played an important role not only as a place where woman burns in furnace to cook for her family, but also as an auxiliary space for agricultural activity where she works together with her husband. Also it was a place for women to exchange their opinion, divide work in cooperation with family or servants, and meditate. |

Trying to overcome mannerism
to make a new beginning
Mannerism, an obstacle to future growth
What do you say when someone asks you, “What’s the difference between yesterday and today?
Most people will probably answer: “There are no differences” or “Do you think there’s any need for differences between yesterday and today?”
That’s right. At a glance, today looks very similar to yesterday. But, today is just barely distinguishable from yesterday. Why do people think that today is not so different from yesterday? Fortunately, some people think today has something different. |

"Adoption": An Invitation
to New Family
While the domestic adoptions in Korean
society have been increasing and its pattern also has
been changing to developed countries' one, the number
of overseas adoptions is still higher than that of domestic
ones. Hence the Korean government had planned to promote
domestic adoptions, and announced 'A Special Law Relating
to Promotion and Procedure for Adoption' last year.
In addition, the National Adoption Day (May 11th) was
established and the period of restriction on the filling
of claim for adoption cancellation was shortened from
1 year to 6 months. Therefore, the adopting parents
gain the right to bring up children to be protected
legally. And from Jan. 1, 2008, a true adoptive son
system will be come into effect. Also, the systemic
benefits to the adoption family are being provided. |

People no longer exist
in Korea in the year 2954?
It has been pointed out that the cause of low birth
rate in East Asian countries in comparison with Europe
is due to several factors such as insufficient standard
of sexual equality, lack of support for the compatibility
between work and family life, atmosphere emphasizing
strong family relationship and maternity, and a late
independence of children.
Together with the practical policy
to cope with the low birth, we should raise our own
consciousness about the labor market and overall society
and also pursue our own practice it.
Even though a good policy can have
an effect on the low birth, people no longer exist in
Korea in the year 2954 unless the social consciousness
about childcare and birth is spread all over the country. |

The etiquette for the
action and the attitude of mind
Learning the wisdom of life from the porcupine
This year, my first son enters an elementary
school. It really gives me a thrill but also brings
me worries if he can be good at school, if there's anything
short to begin the school life. And I have this and
that worries inside.
Chattering with my friend for a long time, I finally
spoke my mind of being parents of a students. My friend
gave me a hope with one sentence, "Don't worry,
children grow as much as they are believed."
An eastern country of etiquette and
women
I have been brought up listening to
a sentence "Korea, an eastern country of etiquette".
But treating an article about the divorce rate of Korea,
the expression "Increasing divorce rate, Why in
the east country of etiquette?' really bugged me. This
seems that women should take a full responsibility as
a principal for the loss of 'an eastern country of etiquette'.
The etiquette, its necessity
There is always a special value of
the society, and it is the etiquette. What is needed
for us to keep the etiquette? According to a statement
of an etiquette instructor, it is said 'etiquette is
to keep a distance'. Here the distance refers to the
distance among the human relationship, not the physical
distance.
The distance of 'a bright idea' learning from the porcupine.
Porcupines pass the winter finding
out the distance of a bright idea where each of them
can warm themselves not hurting each other. That distance
of a bright idea is also needed between human beings. |

The human type suitable
for the 21th century!
The society that creates the ideal human type.
A change of the times requires a new
type of human being who will lead the times. And they
dream of becoming a leader or at least they try to be
the man who can meet the requirements of the times,
and also educate their children to fit the future.
A new type of a human being with cross-shaped
ability on the basis of bisexuality.
We can not define linguistically the
'oo type of a human being' necessarily but we can define
conceptually. It is a new type of Human being who has
the ability of the 'cross-type of human being' on the
basis of the disposition of "bisexuality".
And this is the new type that is needed in the 21th
century. But the one who has the ability of 'cross-type
of human being', but doesn't have the bisexual temper
inside would be just a man who was needed in the past. |

You 'living in hope'.
Change yourself!
A cry, "I want to be changed!"
People and society want changes. The
Cyber Counsel Center of the Befriender International
asked 475 respondents "do you now want changes
for your better self than present?", and got "yes"
from 98%(465 people) of them.
Change should pay its toll!
Like this, a person and a society or
a company has the instinct that he or it is willing
to change himself/oneself unaided for the better future.
But only a few people can get those changes that they
have wanted. Most people just bow their heads every
time in the battle for a change. To win this battle,
one should pay his toll.
Suspension of change, and the power
to reactivate it again!
Even though we have tried to change
preparing some power and technologies for it, at some
moment, our changes stops before the completion of the
change. At a sudden stop of a change, we need some other
power to reactivate it. It is the 'attitude of mind'. |
