GWDC, which was selected as superior case for 『Women’s economic empowerment through IT education and entrepreneurship』 in June, 2001, has provided helpful information for the women in the world to model and learn know-how of center management.


Gyeonggi Women’s Development Center (GWDC) was registered in the DB directory of UN as a model of women’s economic empowerment in IT field, which will be used all over the world as valuable information on the know-how of management.

In addition to the issue of final report, UNESCO produced and distributed illustration booklet all over the world that show the successful cases in the 5 fields in easy and simple way.

 
 
 
1) It was introduced as the Korean case of “Using IT for women’s economic Empowerment” in the report of CSW in March 2003, and also the activity of women economic empowerment program such as long-term IT training course, support office for start-up for women were presented.
2) GWDC’s IT education, office of supporting women’s entrepreneurship and additional service providing case was listed in the CSW’s resource book as the title of “The new business creation for women in Korea” in September 2006.
3) The case of GWDC was introduced as superior model in the report of CSW in UN in September 2005.
 
 
WSIS made the first event that consists of top leader of the world for the theme of information society, making a remarkable point to prepare for the vision toward ‘global information society’ and establishing the regularity of information global society.
   
 
 
 
 
 
1) The center’s developing business and accomplishment of that business was presented as the superior case in the area of Pacific Asia and the publicity activities were conducted on the Pal EXPO multimedia, through the first WSIS in the Geneva, Switzerland in December 2003.
2)

GWDC held the international forum, which is the women’s professional convention of WSIS, UN, with the specialist in the international organization related to women’s right empowerment in June 2005, and selected 「Declaration for WSIS」with discussion on gender equality and ICT issues.
